Economically, all real gains which wage earners get are from increases in productivity. Increases in wages absent productivity gains are absorbed by inflation. If all wages were frozen but there were productivity gains those gains would inure to wage earners in the form of more value for the buck expended. Cheap capital is the major force behind the productivity gains we have been enjoying.
