LIke, I don't think so, like you know, people who say like, that's like- worse. I was standing in the line for the ladies' room at the opera one night. (What were those composers thinking when they made those acts so long?) There was a conversation going on in back of me.. "Did you like think that last aria was like too slow?" "Yeah, it was like so boring." It went on and on, this incredible torturing of our language. I was fascinated -- imagining perhaps a couple of young girls seeing their first opera and feeling uncomfortable. Until I turned around and saw two older women, in expensive gowns and well-coiffed hair. I was like- so bummed.
