Hi jim kelley; It is true that it is all about money. And lots of it.

The memory industry is about $30 billion per year. A quarter's revenues is about $7.5 billion. If Intel wants to buy 10% of that memory, it would be $750 million.

But RDRAM costs 2x SDRAM, (or more?), so the memory makers are probably holding out for more like $1.5 billion. This is starting to sound like real money.
