David,

I know there is a restriction on any takeover of "coms" or "palm", due to the tax-free spin-off of "palm" from "coms". The restriction would cause a taxable event for "coms", if the capital restructuring is done too soon - according to the IRS rulings.

Is there, however, any IRS ruling which would prohibit an accumulation of "palm" or "coms" stock? (i.e., a 30-40% stake - not a takeover, but yet a significant position).

I would think that if "nok" or any of the wireless players thought that "palm" was a steal at these prices, that such an event would not be that unlikely.

Appreciate any info. Assuming you have any info on this hypothetical situation. Thanks.
