Jorj,

When we launched moderated threads, we sent a mass PM to all members announcing their availability. Our policy with regard to changing "unmoderated" to "moderated" was included in that PM. You should have a copy of it in your in-box, but just in case, I've copied the relevant section from that PM here:

IMPORTANT NOTE: (Yes, another one.) The Subject originator must decide at the time that a Subject is started whether the Subject is to be Moderated or Unmoderated. The Subject originator may add or delete names from the "blocked" list on a Moderated Subject at any time. Unmoderated threads cannot be switched to Moderated threads, so if you wish to host a Moderated discussion, you will need to start a new Subject. However, given that this is a new feature, the Community Admin team will entertain (although not necessarily grant) requests, between now and the end of May 2000, to switch existing threads to Moderated threads. Decisions by the Community Admin team to do so (or not), will be made on a case-by-case basis, and will be final.

Jorj - In short, you simply need to submit your request to the community admin team (i.e. to SI Admin Bob). They will review it and make a decision.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Bryan
