d,

I respect your decision and your steady approach to respond to Barrick bashing.

That said I would first like to joke
and fool around with a play on words,
and hope you and Ron understand that
its done not in anger or spite of anything
else called personal attacks. Just a way
to lighten the words said rather than used
those more earthly ones like dumb etc.

To me:

Reading the posts of d is like stepping on
dog poop in the middle of a cold winter
in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Reading the posts of Ron Reecs is like
stepping on dog poop in the middle of a
hot humid summer in Orlando, Florida.

<<... if a person is an investor
... Hatred of a company
... not the province of investors
... Investors make their decisions and move on
... Why waste time and emotion and effort
on trying to influence people against a particular company?>>

Yes, I agree as most all would.
Good advice it is, and if done one's problems are lessened.

BUT,...

<<... It just does not go with the territory...>>

Identifies the thread of the company where one
has invested, and its ok and ok again to bad mouth
the company if one understands that the actions
of the company officers are anti investment share value.

Now I do agree that for every ABX shareholder that feels
the company is doing wrong, there are others who think
the opposite, and some neutral. No problem.

BUT,... to recopy your statement...

<<... It just does not go with the territory...>>

This thread is not about investments in a company,
but how external factors, like gold companies,
affect the price of gold. Barrick is named by name,
but its it's hedging practices that are attacked,
thru its name. I know, going in circles I am.

But its the hedging that being attacked,
and Barrick happens to be the "delivery system"
like cigerattes are to nickotine.

By the way, I invested into Samex Mining as I spoke about,
not as an investment per say, but as a statement to support
the GATA cause. To me it was an non hedging and a
pro GATA action by me, not really an investment,
where investment is to make a return in money directly
from the party I contacted. Here it was my hope that
the GATA cause will be helped, and indirect action by
me thru Samex. Something like I sending GATA a check
for $$$ to help an outcome I wish, that GATA War I.
