TRACK DATA ANNOUNCES OPTIONS DIRECT (EUROPE) LTD., EXCLUSIVE U.K. LICENSEE OF myTrack, TO OFFER ITS UK INVESTORS ACCESS TO US MARKETS
NEW YORK-May 19, 2000-Track Data Corporation (Nasdaq NMS: TRAC) announced today that Options Direct (Europe) Ltd. ("ODL"), the exclusive U.K. licensee of myTrack, has just launched a new feature for its online trading service, myBroker-online trading access to U.S. markets and real-time U.S. market data.
ODL is a London-based stockbroker with more than 8,000 myBroker users. Under an agreement signed last year, ODL provides its customers with a customized version of myTrack?s Internet-based online trading and market data system. In exchange, Track Data receives a percentage of commissions generated by ODL?s myBroker, and received a 10% ownership interest in ODL.
Through ODL?s myBroker service, British clients can now have access to real-time U.S. market data and trade U.S. markets through their PCs, WAP-enabled phones, Palms, and Personal Digital Assistants. Offering a low $15.95 commission on U.S. trades and a single, one currency account (able to handle pound sterling or U.S. dollars), ODL is looking for great success from its online U.S. trading service.
"We have given thousands of private investors free access to what has traditionally been considered ?privileged? information," commented John Paul Thwaytes, chairman, myBroker. "The days of private investors facing limited access to US markets, high commissions, and no real-time US market data are over. We believe British investors will respond favourably."
"You can?t argue with additional order flow, particularly when Track receives a percentage of the commission," said Track Data's Chairman and CEO, Barry Hertz. "That?s the reason we continue to seek to provide overseas access to the US markets. Such arrangements benefit the foreign brokerage, its customers, and Track Data."
