I watch the DOW, sorta, but anyone not watching the DOW certainly did not see any hint of the "PPT" today. SPX - closed at its lows. COMPX - closed at its lows. NYA - (NYSE composite) - closed at its lows after opening up strongly. Basically Friday/Monday is do or die time. If options expiry happens to coincide with a benign day, it may pay to be especially attentive on Monday. If an options literate person has any comments on the relatively benign VIX movement today I'd appreciate hearing the rationale. Given the selling, normally there'd have been upward VIX pressure, not down.
