For a variety of design reasons, we decided not to go with a "stretchy" page for the home page.

The main part of the page is designed to fit a 480 x 640 screen size. A user viewing the SI home page on this size would not see the righ-hand column, which we lovingly refer to as the SI Billboard. Less than 10% of the Web audience currently uses this size.

If you include the Billboard, the page should fit a 600 x 800 screen size. Please let me know if you are experiencing something different.

We intend to use the Billboard to announce new features and special SI related events and promotions. This will allow us to use more of the main part of the page for investing content, news, etc. and bring more of that content "above the fold".

I'm glad you like the new page. I think the Billboard needs a bit of tweaking. Some of the colors look a little goofy on certain monitors - especially laptops. But, we'll get those cleaned up shortly.
