Watching NOVL

Short term predictions are always difficult, but I see something on my screen that I have to remark upon.

Over 11,000 Puts were sold at $10 for May. There are very few Calls sold below 10. This indicates that the bias of the writers of Calls and Puts is to take the stock to a close above 10 today.

The implication of selling a Put is that someone is going to deliver the stock to you at that price. So now you have to buy it at 10 with the big bucks. Obviously you wouldn't want to do that as a writer of Puts. So if the stock can close above 10 you don't have to buy anything and the Puts expire worthless.

Looking at the charts accumulation seems to be happening this morning and confirms this analysis.

That seems to indicate that NOVL will finish up by the end of the session today.

QUAD-K published the first of the articles that will start to appear about what Novell is going to do to respond to the revenue situation. The net services strategy for ASP's is just one of many possible initiatives.
