It was what everybody said, yes, but still I wonder. I'm in my late forties, but friends who are older tell me that they and their contemporaries had pretty much the same sort of sex lives (before marriage) that I had. But then they're a good deal older; could just have been the moralism of the fifties that we're talking about...
