The continuing saga of Speednet is somewhat problematic. I still believe there is negotiation over the sharing of expenses at the heart of the issue as well as the valuation of the fiber infrastructure. My guess is that Softbank wants to price the service at a level that will lose money initially but the more conservative Tepco wants a clear path to profitability sooner rather than later. Pure conjecture on my part. I still view Speednet as a potential blockbuster project for Japan that could ultimately become a cash cow. Of course the Tepco fiber infrastructure is at the heart of the project. I just hope they don't have insurmountable technical problems.
