Hi lml,
Great post, very informative and authoritative. If you're ever looking for work I've got a pal in the old PacBell PR dept. in SF and he could use a guy like you! Sm:)e.
Re: and delivering a multitude of advanced services, that IMHO, will blow your socks off as a residential customer in a few years. Let me guess, telecommuting, videoconferencing, video on demand, all manner of streaming real time financial data, any and all of the JINI type stuff that SUNW is working on, security cams up the wazoo, (well maybe not there, exactly), bill paying, instant medical diagnosis, astrological insights, lotteries, on-line video games, 911 life line service and, well, the list could endless. But what I'm wondering is this, can they do it for $19.95 a month? My annual telecom bill, all in, is about $2K. In 1990, it was about $500. How far do you suppose we can ramp this thing? :)
Just wondering, Ray |
