Nice to run across you again Ron,
Hey Daniel!! Yeah Henry's thread was pretty interesting. He has only posted a couple of times since he "signed off" and I, for one, miss the interplay.
As for CORL, I think you're dead on about the toxic convertible. I don't think it will fly. And I have a hunch that anyone that comes as a white knight will do so with the tacit understanding the Cowpland will need to step at some point in the future.
Technically speaking I believe CORL put in a "hammer" on the daily candlesticks, probably because shorters had little desire to be short over the weekend just in case something positive is announced about CORL's cash situation.
The chart has not updated as of yet, but should by later this evening:

And normally, I would agree about a company being left to its own devices, but I think CORL is such an institution there, and an important part of the Canadian software industry, that some strings will be pulled (at a price).
And I think we're all hoping that the price includes a shuffling of management and a turn-around specialist brought in. Within 6 months, I think CORL may restructure itself to be a major force in the Linux market. They certainly have a major brand recognition that can help their marketing.
Regards,
Ron |
