Exactly Ron, we are entering the M&A era of MARRIAGES OF CONVENIENCE, for economic survival, and not necessarily for love, and I have used the Wordperfect JAVA platform, its a standalone like the Wordperfect Linux that Corel has, in fact, I personally think that Corel could STAND ALONE, since it has everything you need: Operating Systems and Platform (LINUX and JAVA) and its has Wordperfect, and all the offices Suites, (with a little help from Inprise) such as Paradox database, Quattro Pro spreadsheet (remember Intuit anti-trust Fed Trade Comm battle that stopped MSFT from acquiring Intuit) and so on, plus their CorelDraw stuff....really if Copland only realized that Wordperfect was worth more than the rest of their Draw stuff....but these guys get too focused, and thus, takeover targets, like from INPR (I realy think Fuller would have takeover CORL and not Corel taking over INPR in the Inprise merger plan) and now from SUNW, JAVA MOTHER....of all. My opinion is it won't happen unless the MSFT debacle/break up raises Corel and other LINUX plays to CORL about $25-$30, thats the price COREL control interests would want, and I think would get, and as far as SunMicro Systems is concerned, its all just stock anyway....welcome to the McNealy family. I am, Truly your$, -Crystal Ball |
