Ken- But what a GORILLA. Maybe CSCO let the core lag while they are netting $1 billion/quarter with their enterprise products. If I was making a billion a quarter, I wouldn't be so quick to move into other areas either.<vbg> If a writer tags that as 'flawed,' so be it.

Here's some more news about CSCO and NT and the enterprise battle brewing. As you know, I don't follow this too closely. I don't even know if it's accurate but IMO, it's going to be tough for NT in the enterprise space. -MikeM(From Florida)

Cisco Holds Top Spot In Networking Switch Market

Cisco Systems extended its domination in the market for a sophisticated type of networking switch during the first quarter, while Extreme Networks and Foundry Networks made gains at the expense of Nortel Networks.....

Among the top five companies, the big loser was Nortel, which saw its sales fall 29% and its market share shrink to 7.9% from 11.6% in the fourth quarter. It was the seventh straight quarter that Nortel's share of the Layer-3 market shrank. The company acquired its Layer-3 product line when it bought Bay Networks in August 1998....
