Simultaneous newscasts on thursday....
One celebrating the natural recovery of the earth at Mt St Helens after 20 years.
And the other warning that Mt Baker (which is even closer to Vancouver) is showing the first early signs of an expected event.

Once you start paying attention you realize that in the world of Vulcanology there's hardly a dull moment.

Apart from that you're right of course,in studying ancient events there are bound to be interpretations or "leaps of faith" or guesses, or whatever you want to call them. It's hard enough to understand the links between events of seemingly different types even when you're living through them. The only thing that's certain apart from the usual two is that at no time in the history of humanity has there been a shortage of determined opinion.

Have a good week-end Lilian.
