<<According to you, I should sacrifice everything and offer this work for free.>>
never said that.

<<Do you have any idea how expensive it is to run a medical practice?>>
yes. and more than just a vague idea. and i also know how inefficiently MANY of them are run.

<<Greg, I do not think you have **any** idea the increasing demands for more services and less pay going on in the medical world.>>
yep. and that's happening in EVERY industry in the world. go figure.... if you're taking this personally, i apologize. however, i am making general statements about an industry and its participants that have woefully overcharged its "customers" for a very long time. much of that is due to the need to cover the unnecessary expenses from mismanaged business practices. if you're offended, i again apologize. i have many clients who are in the medical profession, and my father-in-law also has a very successful practice.

btw, i also see the sponsored trips and other perks offered by pharmaceutical companies, of which, very few are turned down by those "saintly" doctors who are "holding the entire industry together." i think it's very irresponsible to maintain the doctors are actually as "perfect" as they'd like us to believe and that they are the "glue" to the system. as are all participants in the system, the doctors should be a little more introspective. how many times have you seen a doctor (surely not yourself) prescribe one drug over another due to the perks they receive from the drug reps? never happens, does it?

btw, i am, since you asked, in one of the most corrupt industries.... the financial industry. i have made almost every possible attempt to remove myself from the brokerage houses and insurance companies who have proprietary offerings.... further, i am a prinicipal in our small money management firm and am in no way beholden to anyone's analysis due to their interests in investment banking issues. my industry is not perfect, but at least i don't say it's the brokers and advisors in this industry (on whole) who are the glue holding it together (which, by the way, much of that glue needs to be removed). sorry for my long response, but i felt it necessary to clear up the issue. actually, it would take much longer, but my 5 year old has a bday party tomorrow, so i must leave my office (where i'm also working MANY extra hours to proved for my family, like many physicians i know) and buy a few presents. doc, continue to take care, of yourself and your patients... i'm sure you're doing your part.
regards, greg
