Ray, you lean towards the RBOC's,I leand towards HFC & fiber. I guess sometimes I am too much a cheerleader for what I am behind investment wise. As far as donwtime, remember people are watching T.V. constantly and they are not on the telephone constantly, except maybe my girlfriend. Cable also I beleive needs more amplification of signals and more power. I agree that ADSL will be a great success, but I think it will be a great success for the ALEC's and the ISP's,then the RBOC's. At what price is ADSL commercially viable as a data pipe to the home? I think ADSL and the RBOC's will target commercial deployment to coporations, thats where their profit is. HFC and cable is more of a play on the average homeowner. I think people have given up on cable companies like COX,UMG and Rogers, and are more bullish on the RBOC's. I still give cable a chance at being the method of choice for bandwidth to the home. Remember the content also comes from companies like TWX,the RBOC's are not content providers. @Home and TWX Road Runner(pathfinder)have a chance at being multimedia goliaths on the internet.
