That bunch is as whacked-out on their 'social' ism as the nutzoid US right are on theirs ... i absolutely agree with the "column authored by Tom Friedman of the New York Times" if what he is saying that the main damage of the US embargo against Cuba is symbolic, providing Castro with the straw-man enemy he needs to stay in power ... the 'cost of shipping' argument is BS - if you know much about longshoremen you know that loading and unloading the ship costs more than driving it around the planet ... well, ok, a little hyperbole there -g- ... but not much ... shipping costs, my lord, is that all they can come up with ... no wonder they've failed to capture the hearts and minds of the proletariat.
