Thanks Curtis. I sense that there is a disconnect here somewhere. I went through the gauntlet that you laid out for me, and I wound up in a slew of ion links which make reference to MFN and RACAL, but not to GBLX. Which is rather odd, because the tickertape link, which is a GBLX resource link, points me to ION. But once there, there is no way back to GBLX. It's like going through an osmotic membrane, or a rectifier diode. It only passes one way.
Here's one that speaks to "Joint Venture:"
ionworld.com
Another that speaks to "Corporate Overview:"
ionworld.com
Nowhere do I find the three names, i.e., Global Crossing, MFN, and RACAL in connection with ION, on the same page. Per chance, the Tickertape site needs updating? -----
Furthermore, when I go to the MFNX site and view their European involvement, here's what they have to say:
"Europe - Metromedia Fiber Network is replicating its successful North American inititative in the European market with fiber optic infrastructure builds planned in 16 cities across Europe. As in the US, these networks cover extensive metropolitan areas, from the downtown business centers to the outlying business enclaves. In addition to the European city builds, MFN is constructing a German national ring linking the key centers of business, finance, government and trade within Germany. MFN has also developed a Pan-European network offer customers connectivity between some of Europe's most vital cities. "
Going to the Euro maps show a London Metro network, but no mention of ION or Racal. --------
Notice, not even a peep of ION. It actually appears to me as though the entire matter of ION has been de-emphasized, in total, on the MFN site. I can't find it anywhere, in other words.
Going to the GBLX site affords me a great deal of textual and graphical (maps) information on all of their European and other pursuits, but nothing that remotely sounds like ION at their main site.
Now, I know that I must be doing something wrong, because I'm way overdue ;-) Point me to the right way, sir! I'm looking for something that says that GBLX and MFN have a relationship by virtue of a common, overlapping area of interest, namely ION. I know that something must be out there, somewhere, even if it's only a disclaimer stating that the relationship no longer exists. Thanks.
