Former Judge Joins IMTL as Chairman

IMTL Expected to Receive ISO9002 Certification in May

NEW YORK, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- International Mercantile Corp. d/b/a Micromatix.net (OTC Bulletin Board: IMTL) announced today that The Honorable Max Apple has been appointed Chairman of the Board by IMTL. IMTL's e-Commerce Website is micromatix.net /.

The Honorable Max Apple, has been a member of the Bar of the State of Indiana since 1970, and has practiced law in the State of Indiana since that date. In 1972, the honorable Max Apple was appointed Judge of Orange Circuit Court, 87th Judicial Circuit, State of Indiana, by Governor Edgar Whitcomb for six months. Judge Apple was then elected to two more consecutive six-year terms through 1984. Since 1995, The Honorable Max Apple has been on the board of directors of International Mercantile Corporation. From 1984 to 1995, he was a member of a private law practice, which represented clients by referral only.

Micromatix.net sells custom configured computers, desktop servers and notebooks to value-added reseller's (VAR) and utilizes industry standard, branded components. Micromatix.net systems are aggressively priced, and provide superior customer service. The company has contracts with approximately 30 brand name tier one suppliers, and management expects the company to generate approximately $50 million in sales within the year.

The production of superior quality systems is the foundation on which Micromatix.net's business will prosper. Additional in-roads to Fortune 1000 companies will only be accomplished with consistent and superior quality as our objective. Micromatix.net will emphasize quality in all its assembly procedures. The company maintains quality control through testing of components, parts and subassemblies at various stages of the assembly process. Each unit undergoes diagnostic testing following assembly and final stages of the testing, including a burn-in period, prior to packing and shipping. Assembly and testing are completed for desktop PC systems, and units are ready for delivery, within 72 hours after receipt of an order.

In order to achieve this objective, Micromatix.net supports a fully integrated Documented Quality System, known as ISO 9002, which is independently assessed by a third party. Micromatix.net plans to be ISO 9002 certified in the month of May 2000. The Documented Quality System ensures that Micromatix.net can fulfill contractual obligations by:

-- Ensuring that all activities, which directly affect the quality of

service, are carried out under controlled conditions.

-- Monitoring and analyzing quality indicators, which provide the

feedback to enable continuous quality improvement against customer

needs and expectations.

-- Providing up-to-date instructions and training to all personnel

together with the promotion of quality awareness.

-- Providing the quality framework that enables the company to meet or

exceed the customer's needs and expectations.

To this end, Micromatix.net's strategy is to embrace ISO 9002 as its foundation for quality. Micromatix.net chose ISO because it encompasses all of the operating departments of the business and is not just one the latest quality fads that come and go. When implemented, and actively worked, ISO provides key improvements to both the quality of the product and Micromatix.net's overall business model.

Quality control is an important element of a VAR's relationship with its customers; therefore, quality is an important element in marketing white-box PC systems to VARs. VARs generally are not ISO 9002 certified and must outsource to accommodate their customer's demand for such quality control. By making this quality standard available, the Company believes that it will further strengthen its ties to the VARs and, as a result, increase sales.
