Crusader, the fact of the matter is that the treasury is in the market buying back some of its paper, so you have to assume that some debt is being repaid. I used to have a URL showing both historical treasury debt outstanding and one that showed it daily. The best way to see if we are in a budget surplus or not is to see if the debt is still growing month over month as it was before or not. If you have this URL, Id like to book mark it again (G).
