Has anyone an opinion regarding MSFT's option and/or put writing activites of late ? I read in one of the finance trade papers that MSFT usually writes-put-options and has made some money doing that over the years. Are they able to buy back their own stock at this time, either via a put-option route or just buy their shares in the open market at current $65-ish ? Is MSFT unable at this time to buyback any of their shares due to a recent acquisition ? Will they be able to again buyback their shares in early June ?

Come to think of it recall back in 1987 and again in 1998 that many companies announced share buy-backs to help support their falling stock, is the latest markets' downdrafts lacking much in the way of share buy-back announcements ?

Thanks
