Anyone know why platinum supply is apparently thought by www.platinumguild.org webcast participants to be safe, when it comes from South Africa, which is probably even more of a basket case than Russia? My understanding is that this is where almost all the platinum is, that is at least directly mined as opposed to being a by product of nickel production? In addition, jewelry demand in Far East replacing gold could potentially dwarf usage in auto catalysts thus driving the price up above palladium.
