I was thinking however of the lag... My point exactly ... i.e., without the context, it is hard to know what to make of the number, even if one is comparing a group of companies in very comparable businesses (your list covered quite a spectrum). If I had these numbers for an appropriate company and one stood out, that might cause me to look for an explanation, but then it would be the explanation which was adding to my knowledge, not the number itself. I.e., it is a ratio which seems to me to be more of a screening tool or a sanity check, than something one can use directly in analysis.
