regardless of whether doctors, HMOs, democrats, republicans etc. are good, bad, indifferent or whatever, this is a highly pressurized system and something has to give. the system will reorganize and find a new equilibrium that reduces the pressure. could be less care for patients, lower earnings for health professionals, lower earnings for insurers etc.

i'm betting that the major realignment will be in favor of a more efficient system that reduces the overhead per transaction and allows health professionals, insurers and patients to get more, not less, out of the system. why not?
