WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--3Com Corp. (COMS) Chief Financial Officer Christopher Paisly registered to sell 100,000 shares of the company's common stock, according to a Form 144 released Thursday by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

A Form 144 indicates an intention to sell restricted stock and opens the door for an individual to sell the shares, but doesn't indicate if or when the actual sale will occur or has occurred.

The filing indicates Paisly intended to sell the shares on May 10 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Bear Stearns & Co. was listed as the broker for the transaction.

3Com, based in Santa Clara, Calif., develops and provides wireless data access technology.
