Thanks, Teddy. The apparent discrepancy concerning the additional 81 fibers is very interesting, and I have no clue as to how such a denomination [81] would be arrived at. I take that to mean that GBLX is looking for 81 fibers _in addition_ to the already-negotiated 96 in the instances they cite, right?

Also, from recent investigations into this area it's come to my attention that the "mix" of fiber types in those ducts can make a great difference at some point, dependent on their intended uses and how their fabric is set up, and could be pivotal to attaining certain cost advantages down the road. The mix also impacts the kinds of tests and performance criteria that enter into SLAs.

Also, just look at what happened to Northeast Optical Networks' (NEON's) stock price, simply because they elected to go with a certain type of fiber! _grin_

On a more serious note, decisions on the selection of fiber type (becuase there are so many choices today) are crucial. I wonder what they've decided on, in what mix, and for what purposes. Also curious at this time as to what their metro wdm/optical switching direction would be. But that is surely not within the scope of the Telergy filing, although it does state that Telergy would need to be trained in GBLX's network practices. MFNX has a NOC. So would Telergy. But it remains to be seen just how much control (read, who will supply the manpower to monitor and maintain) Telergy would have on local fiber distribution surveillance and management, once they are terminating GBLX traffic into NY City subs.

I also find it interesting that they only mention the other markets outside of the NY City area in a casual way, at this time. In earlier press releases I recall some fairly definitive statements, leading one to conclude that GBLX would be entering multiple markets across the country using Telergy's metro facilities in each of them. From the wording in the filing, however, it doesn't appear to me as though this is a done deal, just yet, although it's still early in the game and there's nothing that indicates that it wont be done.

Please let us know if you find out more concerning both the 81 strand affair, and how Telergy will play into supporting GBLX in the other markets, and I'll do the same. Your efforts are appreciated.
