You may be correct in your assessment of the competitive landscape, but it will not be the first time that some investors have written off Ciena for precisely the same reasons you posted. In fact, your post reminds of some I read a while back when reading some of the beginning posts on this thread (posted back in 1997.) Of course that does not negate the threat....
