Here is the key part:

Each of the new VC820 boards will contain up to 128 Mbytes of Direct RDRAM, at PC700 speeds or faster.

So people who bought more than 128 MB or RAM will get screwed. But the PC-700 RDRAM has a very limited marketability, so there will not be much speculation.

I just wonder how an average user is going to return a motherboard for replacement.
