Neo,
Since "permanent" status is not necessarily permanent, then we might as well grant them this status. At this time, there is business with China that is too one sided. They are flooding our markets with their stuff, but we are not shipping our stuff to them in sufficient quantities to get anywhere near an equal trading position. As long as we can instigate a rescinding of such status in the event of unwarranted aggression, then let's do it.
