<<May 22, 2000 12:45 PM Eastern Time
SEOUL, Korea, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Korea Thrunet Co., Ltd. KOREA , the leading Korean broadband Internet access service provider, today announced a strategic alliance with Korea Housing and Commercial Bank (H&CB). The two companies will co-brand and host H&CB banking, mortgage financing and lottery services on the soon-to-be-launched Korea.com Web site.
H&CB will provide its financial services and related content through Korea.com's mega portal, which will be developed on a multimedia platform. The site bank.korea.com will become HC&B's homepage for home banking, smart card and business banking services. Mortgage and real-estate services of HC&B will be found at house.korea.com, which will be a one-stop shop for real-estate listings, mortgage structures and other housing-related financing products, based on the largest database in Korea. H&CB currently operates the largest lottery in Korea and will launch its online lottery service jointly with Korea Thrunet at lottery.korea.com.

H&CB is the largest housing mortgage bank in Korea with more than 12 million account holding customers. As H&CB will share its customer database with Korea Thrunet and provide the Korea.com membership ID for its Internet banking services, Korea Thrunet will have immediate access to HC&B's customer base.

Korea Thrunet is actively developing its upcoming mega portal site, Korea.com, giving users an easy-to-navigate, one-ID, one-password solution. Korea Thrunet also plans to implement certain payment and transaction systems developed by HC&B. No details have yet been released about the shared revenue arrangements between Korea Thrunet and H&CB.>>
