Well, Feelies is not that dead ... i see a discussion of the concept of love over there just now ... the greeks had four words for our one word 'love' ... eros [from which we derive 'erotic'], fileo ['brotherly love' - from which we derive Philadelphia, believe it or not], agape [spiritual love, or the sort directed at a godhead], and another i disremember just now .. no time to look it up. Later ... got to go plant the ma¡s ... few days of the year i get to play campesino, and this is one of them ... just spent the last hours with one eye on the television watching the Empire Day parade in Victoria, and i'm bummed - no bagpipes at all [well, maybe i missed what there were, but there couldn't have been many] ... and american bands outnumbered canehjun six to one, apparently ... which is just fine with me, but couldn't you people get a few quality pipe bands together??? ... one time i'll tell you a story about bagpipes and airplanes and interestingly eccentric old farts and the village of the family of my current wife in past and present, but in private, and later ... for now, ma¡s ... cheers |
