Cheryl, your post reflects what SUNW/AOL/ORCL is trying to do. I would reword it this way:

Cry babies SUNW/AOL/ORCL have gone to the DOJ and are trying to get the government to gut the company, tank a reasonably good OS, port the apps to UNIX (and not make any improvements on their current platforms), cheat the management and shareholders and move the consumers BACK to the days when SUNW/ORCL/AOL could charge whatever they wanted for the crap they doled out.

If SUNW/ORCL/AOL have such a superior product and strategy, they will win out. Why should they waste money buying MSFT ? They could use the $350 billion to do better things. The fact is that MSFT's java client is better than that of SUNW and no less authority than Marc has said so. He blasted SUNW for not putting in enough effort. AOL has long been the butt of internet cognoscenti, SUNW has always gauged its customers and ORCL has some of the most vicious marketing programs the world has ever known. This is all known in the industry. They are much worse than MSFT.
