to clarify (one more time) my statements.... i did NOT indict the WHOLE profession. as a matter of fact, i thought i was pretty complimentary to those doctors who (and i know many) practice ethical medicine. of course, egos do get in the way of substance, don't they? one of the best comments was made when someone on this thread said "the hmo's pit the doctors' interests against the patients' best interests (very true).... hmmmm....this leads to some unethical decisions.
as far as claritin is concerned, you clearly didn't understand the message... it was many doctors choose to work with certain REPS and i was only using prescribing claritin over zyrtec as an example (not that doctors are expressly and openly paid for using one over the other...uh, that would be not only illegal, but unethical). didn't mean to lose you there, "doc". and i'm sorry you still won't admit this behavior happens quite often in your industry. i guess all of the doctors i know are "liars" and "fools", as well, huh? btw, i know doctors i'd like to have beside me in a foxhole and then there are those i wouldn't allow to operate on my dog. yes, all professions are like that.... that was my point from the very beginning when that original, extremely egotistical comment was made.
get over it. oh, and if you're a little too defensive, i'm extremely sorry, but don't take it out on me. i try to teach my 5 year old the same thing, and won't allow him to verbally abuse others... especially when he's not able to do it to their face. <g> |
