Recall also the allegations by Tice, the Texas investor and player on the short side (thus, be informed of his possible bias), re. Tyco's cooking of the books in collaboration with its acquisition targets so that post-acquisition results looked spectacular compared with the pre-combination hauling out of dirty laundry.
The SEC began its own investigation; Tyco claimed it reported i/a/w GAAP to the letter. Not sure whether the Commission has yet given a clean bill of health.
