I don't remember if if was said exactly but that sure was my impression. MZ mentioned a few firms in particular that will be making compatible chip sets so it was at least alluded to.

That's my recollection without going back thru the tape.

Actually, I just went back and listened to the question and answer session. MZ specifically states that there is only one supplier (Alcatel) of the chipsets and in the "very near" future there will be multiple suppliers which will help to reduce costs.
