It has been my limited observation that these optical systems being put in now are gravitating to an open standards model that may not by definition lock in a "supplier for years to come".... (An article about these standards was posted a couple of posts back..) Furthermore, I am seeing more and more customers use multiple vendors-a phenomenon which should require more interoperability, no?... This is just my opinion, and any comments, corrections or opinions are welcome by all.
