I have one for you : A trader calls his direct access broker to see if a newly ipo'd stock is marginable. The broker checks with margins and calls back the trader telling him it's come off 30 day restriction and is marginable at 50%. The next day the account shows a 100% requirement and this creates problems. Doesn't the broker own this problem because they checked with margins?
