Re: Will power has nothing to with it. I have no physiological need for alcohol, whereas some people do.
Scumbria,
You struck a nerve here. I'm from Irish and Polish decent and come from a long line of alcohalics.
Will power has everything to do with it. The problem is many people are looking for an excuse. We come up with excuses such as alcoholism, but it's all BS to me. I went on 6 month benders in college, only to not have an entire drop for the next 3 months. I just killed myself the last 3 days in Vegas and probobly won't drink for a long time, a very long time the way I feel right now.
By any definition, I'm overwieght by 20-40 pounds right now, but you won't see me making excuses. I deserve it, I've become lazy and just plain haven't given a shit over the past year. Recently, I have decided to care and am getting things in order. Hopefully, by the time we all meet, I will be in shape and at an ideal weight. If not, it's my own fault for being lazy and having no self control.
You are still very young, and have a lot to learn about what makes us human.
True, so very true.
The best thing I've learned in my life up to date is not to believe in excuses, whatever they may be. It scares me to believe I don't have control of my own life. If I think I can control my life and others cannot, wouldn't that suggest I'm better than everyone else? I don't believe this one bit, everyone makes there own decisions, good or bad. Most deserve what they get from their decisions.
