well, as long as money continues to flow in, the market will continue to mark time... the seizing up of the credit markets suggests however that borrowing for stock buybacks will slow down by necessity. that's been a major prop for the market over the years...incurring debt to buy back the most inflated stocks of all time, to make sure executives stock options get into the money. a complete waste of resources....
