3COM Massachusetts Call Center Approves ECHONET Service Business Editors AGOURA HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 2000--Electronic Clearing House, Inc. (Nasdaq:ECHO) announced the Marlborough, Massachusetts call center of 3COM (Nasdaq:COMS) has been piloting the use of the company's Internet-based ECHONET service under a processing agreement signed in January 2000. After 100 days of testing and use, 3Com has informed ECHO that it is pleased with the ECHONET product and is now considering the expansion of the ECHONET program to other 3COM call centers around the nation. 3COM, based in Santa Clara, Calif., is a solutions and technology firm enabling individuals and organizations worldwide to stay connected by communicating and sharing information. The ECHONET service is a browser-based interface to ECHO's Web site which allows merchants to access a full suite of Internet transactions which include deposits, credits, credit card authorizations and address verification. 3COM utilizes ECHONET in processing credit card authorizations for returned equipment to its call centers.
