(Nasdaq: GILTF) for incorporation into Gilat's SkyBlaster, a bi-directional PC-based VSAT satellite network, and RMS Networks proprietary Digital Video Server (DVS) Technology to transmit broadcast-quality, full motion video programming to strategically placed monitors in retail locations nationwide.
"As a premier creator and provider of broadcast-quality, digital in-store networks for retailers nationwide, we needed a quality-assured digital video streaming solution," said RMS Networks vice president of marketing Sam Ambrose. "We are pleased to have teamed up with respected technology leaders in the satellite and video sector to provide a valuable communications and advertising tool to our more than 2,300 retail partners."

The VideoPlex XPress is a top quality video-in-a-window platform designed for integration into end-points. Targeted at large scale video networking applications, VideoPlex XPress offers high-quality, cost effective MPEG video hardware acceleration based on the PCI Video Inlay method or the Video Port Extension (VPE -- part of the PC 98 recommendations), also supported by windows 95/98 and the recently introduced Windows 2000(TM). This technology gives a crystal clear image on the VGA.
RMS Networks' proprietary DVS Software Suite, enables programming content to be stored locally on customized digital playback systems at each retail location, which allows content to be regionalized and customized to meet the needs of retailers, advertisers and consumer demographics.
