Optibase's End-Point Solution Integrated in Gilat's SkyBlaster VSAT and RMS
Networks Proprietary Digital Video Server (DVS) Technology to Deliver Real Time
Programming to U.S. Retailers

RMS Networks Provides Retailers With Custom Broadcast Programming on Satellite Platform
Operated by Spacenet Inc.

HERZLIYA, Israel, May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Optibase (Nasdaq: OBAS), today announced that its VideoPlex XPress end-point solution
has been chosen by Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILTF) for incorporation into Gilat's SkyBlaster, a bi-directional PC-based
VSAT satellite network, and RMS Networks proprietary Digital Video Server (DVS) Technology to transmit broadcast-quality, full
motion video programming to strategically placed monitors in retail locations nationwide.

"As a premier creator and provider of broadcast-quality, digital in-store networks for retailers nationwide, we needed a quality-assured
digital video streaming solution," said RMS Networks vice president of marketing Sam Ambrose. "We are pleased to have teamed up
with respected technology leaders in the satellite and video sector to provide a valuable communications and advertising tool to our
more than 2,300 retail partners."

"We are happy to join forces with Gilat and RMS Networks to provide a solution for enhanced, interactive communications to retailers
nationwide," said Yaniv Garty, VP Marketing and Business Development at Optibase. "The concentrated effort of delivering targeted
advertising and communications is designed to enable retailers to increase their revenues, as well as improve the in-store shopping
atmosphere for consumers."

The VideoPlex XPress is a top quality video-in-a-window platform designed for integration into end-points. Targeted at large scale
video networking applications, VideoPlex XPress offers high-quality, cost effective MPEG video hardware acceleration based on the
PCI Video Inlay method or the Video Port Extension (VPE -- part of the PC 98 recommendations), also supported by windows 95/98
and the recently introduced Windows 2000(TM). This technology gives a crystal clear image on the VGA.

RMS Networks' proprietary DVS Software Suite, enables programming content to be stored locally on customized digital playback
systems at each retail location, which allows content to be regionalized and customized to meet the needs of retailers, advertisers and
consumer demographics. Program segments can be seamlessly added, deleted or rotated in real time via satellite with the DVS
software.
