First, Sun said that the UltraSparc-III microprocessor line would be coming out in the September quarter. The new chips are designed to run at 600 Mhz, and are expected to receive a warm welcome in the market. Sun also plans to roll out new data storage products on June 14. It is unclear what strategy the company will employ in this new business, but many projections have the storage market expanding by more than 50% annually for the near future, which is much faster than Sun's current growth rate..." ============================================================ This article states that the new UltraIII chips are designed to run at 600mhz but from an earlier article management stated that faster speeds have been tested at 900mhz (with slight timing problems). That's a 50% increase in cycle speed. Are these the same microprocessors? EKS
