Good point, and you have to keep in mind that most people are not interested in "politics". Most people are just busy enjoying their lives. That's one of the reasons the mainstream press is still so influencial. Most people get all their news from sound bites while walking through airports or using the stairclimber. With regard to social security. As long as George W goes waaay out of his way to ensure senior citizens their benefits won't be effected. It's a winning issue. Because the young instinctively know it makes sense. They're not afraid of the stock market the way many older people are. Michael
