Re: My limit order filled at $78 and I am back in again.

As far as day/momentum trading.

I am very bullish on AMD on a relative basis.

However with the stock market it concerns me.

So I am looking for every dollar i can.

Kash-

I agree with you, I'm bullish on AMD, but skeptical of the market.

You're under the same tax system as me. Why are you giving yourself these short term tax burdens? In early 2001, you could easily have to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes. Why not just sit on it and get a long term gain? Depending on how things go, you may even be able to avoid taxes on AMD gains in 2000 and 2001, or possibly further. I've already started to look at my tax burden for this year, and assuming AMD is at $100 post-split, I will have to sell 300 shares just to pay taxes. This sale of 300 shares will also give me another short term gain which I will then have to be paying in early 2002. I can't imagine the burden you are giving yourself as you buy 20K shares at a time.

If you're truly bullish on AMD long term, why not ride it out and avoid those costly short term gains?

PS- Very nice trade by the way. Unfortunately, waiting 30 minutes could've saved you another few points. Still, a good trade. I think it's impossible to time tops and bottoms. Take what you can get if you're going to play this game.
