A question for the Novell/TI gateway team

I like this link:

novell.com

Much better than the original press release.
Now here is my question.

This TI device is supposed to be a gateway to DSL service in my home and it uses eDirectory to manage the connection and delivery of services.

Now I have been talking to some DSL providers. One of their big problems is that some local communications service providers such as Bell Atlantic deliver an undifferentiated VPN to the DSL ISPs grouping the ISPs customers. The ISPs cannot decipher the line assigned to the home customer from the batched VPN data. Basically Bell Atlantic is saying here are all your users, send them your information. But there is no way to know if they got it, since you can't identify the line they are coming in on.

If a line goes down the ISP has to handle the customer's complaints without anyway to check them back to the misdirected router line or the customer source.

Does the Novell/TI partnership contemplate any solution for the ISPs to the Bell Atlantic problem?
