CrossKeys Demos New Software that Delivers Reliable Service and Profitability for ISPs: First ISP customers say software is valuable as core router
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 2000--CrossKeys Systems Corporation (NASDAQ:CKEY - news; TSE:CKY. - news) announces its first public demonstration of CrossKeys Dyband(tm) software for multi-access Internet service providers (ISPs) at ISPCON Spring 2000 in Orlando, Florida.
CrossKeys Dyband software is a unique broadband services management product that addresses the key ``last mile'' issue facing wireless, cable and digital subscriber line (DSL) service providers - how to deliver consistent, reliable, high-speed service to home users, home offices and businesses and maintain service profitability.
Service providers are facing new and growing challenges such as controlling bandwidth monopolization, minimizing network congestion, accurately predicting capacity needs to support customer growth and containing operation costs. CrossKeys Dyband software enables service providers to provide each broadband customer with the required services and the bandwidth they pay for - all from an easily configured software suite.
``Customers and analysts have confirmed that this software provides a combination of critical capabilities no other solution can offer,'' says Ian McLaren, President and CEO, CrossKeys. ``CrossKeys Dyband software improves service profitability by utilizing existing broadband Internet connections more efficiently. This enables the addition of more subscribers per broadband connection, or new service tiers while distributing bandwidth fairly to subscribers and at the same time guaranteeing consistent, reliable service performance and customer satisfaction.''
CrossKeys broadband services management improves Internet service provider profits and services by:
* dynamically managing bandwidth, increasing the number of
subscribers that can be supported on the current Internet
connection(s) by 40%;
* enabling the creation and management of unlimited service tiers at
distinct price points to meet the budgets and interests of
customers, increasing revenue by up to 30%;
* delivering real-time and historical insight into service
performance to support capacity analysis and planning, billing,
and customer and technical services; and
* providing a single management interface across all transport
mediums (DSL, wireless, cable, leased-line, Ethernet, satellite).
A number of ISPs across North America are using CrossKeys Dyband software live with customers, allowing them to manage customer expectation levels in addition to controlling the amount of bandwidth they need to purchase for their disparate networks.
``This product will occupy an important place in our network topology - probably second only to the core router,'' says Ransom Southerland, President, ClipperNet Corporation.
ISPCON Spring 2000 (May 23 to 25, 2000) promises to be the largest gathering of Internet service providers. CrossKeys booth number is 1143 and will be joined by Storm Internet Services. Demonstration copies will be available along with the ability to purchase the CrossKeys Dyband software from the show floor.
