That was in the dark ages by TV standards! Cable has changed that. Too much competition for the same ad dollars. It's all ratings based. There used to be very good "white paper" types of news specials, Frontline seems to be the last bastion of that genre. For example, I wonder how well CNN's "Cold War" series did? My guess is that it probably bombed<vbg>
